Talk about cynical!
Remember that ad McCain put up that attacked Obama for not visiting troops in Germany, falsely asserting that he didn't visit because fotogs weren't allowed and falsely hinting that he wanted to go to the gym and work out instead?
A Business Week blogger says he has a GOP source that says they had an alternative ad ready to go that would have attacked Obama if he had visited -- suggesting that he was exploiting wounded soldiers:
"What the McCain campaign doesn’t want people to know, according to one GOP strategist I spoke with over the weekend, is that they had an ad script ready to go if Obama had visited the wounded troops saying that Obama was...wait for it...using wounded troops as campaign props. So, no matter which way Obama turned, McCain had an Obama bashing ad ready to launch. I guess that’s political hardball. But another word for it is the one word that most politicians are loathe to use about their opponents—a lie."
Obama has said that after Pentagon warnings, he decided to cancel the trip because it was on the campaign leg of his trip and he worried that it would be viewed as political and put soldiers in the crossfire.
This item, if true, means McCain didn't care what was right -- he just wanted to attack.

Wow, lots of claims in this post. However, it was admitted that Obama choose not to go AFTER he was told no campaign staff was allowed, only govt.
Paints a rather diferent picture than the half-story posed by the admin. It's almost as though someone was trying to mislead readers.
Didn't Obama work out? I thought the NYTimes said he did?
Why did you fail to mention the issue of the campaign staff not being allowed. An oversight?
