Obama puts a new ad responding to the Clinton/McCain gas-tax-holiday proposals into his rotation.
Hillary Clinton has been hitting him hard in her ads, arguing that his refusal to support the holiday showed he was indecisive, not a leader. His first response ad used Obama giving a speech on the issue, but didn't reference Clinton. This one has a harder edge -- referencing "another negative ad from Hillary Clinton" and using USA Today and the WSJournal to denounce her proposal as "political pandering" and a "poll driven gimmick."
Both candidates seem to be running softer campaigns than they did in Pennsylvania. But is an ad like this enough to turn an idea with as much superficial appeal as a gas-tax cut in Obama's favor? Does it quite capture how universally Clinton's approach has been criticized by experts?
