In a post last night, we noted Hillary's odd remark -- "Rich people, God bless us" -- in the O'Reilly interview, while assuming that it just didn't come out the way she intended.
It turns out, however, that Clinton press spokesman insists -- vociferously -- that she said "God blessed us." The video below has audio of Wolfson on the daily conference call making his argument, and then the clip of Hillary. Judge for yourself -- but it seems pretty much 100 percent clear to us that Hillary said "bless." If you're puzzled sometimes about why the press seems cynical about Hillary, this kind of disingenuous spin gives you an idea of the origins of the cynicism.
Given Wolfson's attempt to change a word that is on tape, maybe we dismissed Hillary's comment too lightly. Maybe they don't want Hillary, in full regular-person campaign mode, chuckling "Rich people, God bless us" with another multi-millionaire. Why should she get a pass on this comment? What did she mean?

God bless the Clintons for making millions, after all the years of low salaries (Arkansas Governor, look it up) and hard work. It should happen to all of us. Resenting those who made it does nothing for those of us trying to make it.
