Superdelegates: 1 each, so far

Obama hoped that, by winning an absolute majority of pledged delegates yesterday, he would hit a benchmark that would lead to to a healthy new flow of superdelegate endorsements, based on the "will" of the voters.

He hit that mark although, as noted, he hasn't yet quite hit it if the Florida and Michigan delegations end up being seated more or less as Clinton would like. Today, the question is what impact that will have on superdelegates.

So far, it's a tie. Clinton has announced the endorsement of Craig Bashein (no pic), an add-on superdelegate from Ohio. Obama passes along an article from the Hartford Courant, with an Obama endorsement from Connecticut Rep. Joe Courtney (left).

Bashein: “Hillary brings a wealth of proven experience in both domestic and foreign policy that provides a great sense of confidence and security in our future. She has the strength and determination to beat John McCain this Fall.”

No statement from Courtney yet. Obama won Connecticut, but Clinton won Courtney's Congressional district.

Democrats will be voting Republican in record numbers if Obama gets the nomination. McCain will win by the biggest landslide since George Washington. He's clearly unelectable in November. Any delegate that backs him is ultimately only underming the Democratic party.
