Mississippi: Test marketing Obama, down ticket

The other race to watch tonight is a special election for Congress in Mississippi, pitting Democrat Travis Childers against Republican Greg Davis.

A few weeks ago, when Jeremiah Wright's tirades were everywhere, Davis ran the ad below -- attempting to link Childers to Obama, and to Wright. Childers responded with an ad saying he hadn't been endorsed by any presidential candidate.

Tonight is the election. It's a tossup in a heavily Republican district (Bush won it with more than 62 percent of the vote). If Childers wins, it'll be a talking point for Obama and Democrats. If not, there will be a question about whether Obama hurt the down-ticket Democrat.
