Peace talks among Islip Republicans broke down over the weekend.
Those who want state Sen. Caesar Trunzo, 81, to step down as party leader and concentrate on his re-election were miffed that the Brentwood Republican was not ready to go.
The party faction headed by John Schettino and Philip Goglas were scheduled to hold another meeting Monday night at the East End Republican Club in Sayville where those involved in the town's five GOP clubs were to convene to plot their next step.

No surprise. This man will never leave on his own volition. If you want him out, you are going to have to take him out. My advise: take him out of the senate and the rest will take care of itself.
Islip voter is sooo correct. He is protecting his family's political jobs. Fire them and the Trunzo act is over.
Without the past,we will never have a future,Republicans should get their act togther and may be give Senator Trunzo an honoary Chairman for what he had done for his party.but he has to pass the leadership to the younger generation. It's all about power and making dirty backroom deals.
