This came up earlier in the campaign, when ABC did a story about Sen. Clinton's tenure as a member of Wal-Mart's board, in which she did not exactly distinguish herself with expressions of concern about the company's union-busting tactics.
Now, helpfully, just as she tries to slide over the Penn-for-Colombia debacle, the Center for Public Integrity comes up with a new trove of videos from Wal-Mart's videographer, with more tape of Hillary's appearances at company events.
The whole impact, as with previous stories, is understanding the background: That this big Arkansas employer was proudly and fiercely hostile to organized labor and would, as time passed, create their own sub-class of people who were employed but lacked health insurance, and squeeze the profit margins of small companies across the US to meet global competition.
So, blue-collar workers will not necessarily love to see Sam Walton effusively praising Hillary, who responds in kind: "I'm so proud of this company and everything it represents....It just makes me feel real good."
