Spin Cycle

We posted a picture earlier of Hillary downing a shot of whiskey while campaigning in Indiana on Saturday. Here she is guzzling the beer that preceded the shot -- with eyes that don't seem filled with joy.

Video of Obama making light of her bar stop and her blue-collar bonding in a speech this morning is below. He seems to have decided that the best way to respond to negative attacks is to launch negative attacks:

“Around election time, candidates, they just can’t do enough. They’ll promise you anything, give you a long list of proposals. They’ll even come around, with TV crews in tow, and throw back a shot and a beer. ... But if those same candidates are taking millions of dollars in contributions from the PACs and the lobbyists, ask yourself, who are they going to be toasting once the election is over?”

The Clinton campaign response recalled Obama's Pennsylvania bus tour last week: “With all due respect, this is the same politician who spent six days posing for cliched camera shots that included bowling gutterballs, walking around a sports bar, feeding a baby cow, and buying a ham at the Philly market....Sen. Obama’s speeches won’t hide his condescending views of Americans living in small towns."
