The Clinton campaign releases five new ads in Pennsylvania -- is this part of a post-Penn burst of creativity?? a move into a mode of "we may as well try everything"??
One of the new team's plans is supposedly to mix together Hillary's claim that she is strong with a claim that she is compassionate -- to make her "strong leader" persona less abstract. So, voila! The new ads feature a new slogan: "A President Who Will Be Strong for Us." Is this basically an effort to sell maternal strength?
The most interesting new ad, which certainly shows signs of a team that wants to newly emphasize her softer human side, is called "Scranton," a bio spot using old family films to re-present Hillary as a big-dreaming little girl visiting her Dad's northeastern Pa. hometown. There's also endorsement ads from Michael Nutter (below) and Ed Rendell (after the jump), and a Hillary-as-populist economy spot (after the jump). There's also a Spanish-language spot.
Here's "Scranton," the bio spot:
Here's "Get It Done," featuring Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter:
Here's "Spectacular" featuring Pa. Gov. Ed Rendell:
Here's Falling Through, her economy/populist spot:
