The McCain campaign has been pretty obsessive recently about responding to Obama every time he says McCain supports a 100 year war in Iraq, complaining that it's a distortion of a comment McCain made about a 100-year peaceful Japan-style presence.
Today, Hillary Clinton launched the same type of attack in Pennsylvania: “Senator McCain says he will keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years – and you can count on that. Senator Obama says he will get American troops out in 16 months, but his advisor says you can’t count on that. And one candidate is ready to be commander in chief ..... And you’re looking at her.”
Obama's campaign responded with a statement: "We're happy to have a debate with Hillary Clinton over who the American people trust to end this war, since Barack Obama is the only candidate who had the judgment to oppose the war from the very beginning, not just from the beginning of a campaign for President."
But nothing from McCain.
Which could be a sign that Hillary has found a formulation of his 100-year remark that the McCain campaign finds acceptable (Obama now refers to it as a 100-year "occupation.")
Or, it could be a sign that they no longer consider Hillary a likely foe.
