Hillary: Now, inventing Florida claims?

Sen. Clinton has a wonderful issue by the tail in Obama's "bitter" remarks. But she still is preoccupied with changing the rules on Florida and Michigan, and in an interview with the St. Petersburg Times she questioned the legitimacy of any nomination without counting those states and argued that Florida was a contested primary even though no one was allowed to campaign in the state:

"'Then why did he run a nationwide cable buy? Why did he up his (TV) buy in southern Georgia because it went over the border? Why did he ship in yard signs and all the rest of it?' the former first lady said. 'He competed, come on.'

"Obama's campaign has said it tried to exclude Florida from a national cable TV ad buy but couldn't, and the Clinton campaign could provide no evidence that Obama bought extra TV time along Florida's northern border. Campaign aides said Clinton was repeating something she heard from a supporter."

The cable buy is an old issue -- Clinton more than countered by promising to try to seat the delegates, in contravention of DNC rules, before the vote -- but the claim about southern Georgia is new. She repeated "something she heard from a supporter"??

She ran into trouble a week ago for just repeating without vetting a health care story she heard from a deputy sheriff in Ohio. It turned out to be mostly false. Don't most people try to check whether stuff is true before spreading it through the megaphone of a national political campaign? Are you allowed to just throw stuff out there? If we heard from somebody that Hillary tortures cats, can we just start writing it?

In another passage, she was asked about why she came so late to the defense of Florida voters:

"So why didn't she speak up sooner about the need to count the votes of Florida Democrats, rather than wait until her campaign was in trouble after losses in Iowa and South Carolina? 'I was a little preoccupied,' she said, laughing. 'I was trying to stay alive, frankly.' "

That also isn't true. She was the prohibitive frontrunner in 2007, when the DNC voted to strip Florida of delegates because it violated party rules by scheduling its primary too early.

"...the Clinton campaign could provide no evidence that Obama bought extra TV time along Florida's northern border. Campaign aides said Clinton was repeating something she heard from a supporter."

This line is already tired. So anything a "supporter" says MUST be true and that justifies Clinton's lies. With all her and her husband's constant LIES ("I did NOT have sex with THAT woman, Ms. Lewinsky !"), she is waging a scorched earth policy and the Democratic (BOY ! Is THAT a misnomer ! Are you listening SUPERdelegates ???) Party and the American people be damned as long as the Clintons WIN at any cost.

I think you should change the name of this blog to the "Anti-Hillary Spin Cycle".

And I think Newsday owes its readers another blog, one that's fair and balanced toward ALL the candidates, instead of one that is so totally one-sided. This isn't news, it's tabloid propaganda!

Spin this: in a current political ad, 3 year-old Hillary Rodham, arms extended, toddles toward the home-movie camera. Hillary's present-day voice-over explains, the Rodham family cottage, down by the lake, lacked indoor plumbing. Yet, more telling details seem to fall by the wayside. Take twenty-seven year old Hillary's first real job. The upshot: Jerry Zeifman fired Hillary for unethical practices during the Watergate Investigation. Why was Hillary fired? “Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in a recent interview. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”

“I have gone [duck] hunting. I am not a hunter. But I have gone hunting," says Hillary. Perhaps as amusing, is how an elitist politician worth over $100 million-dollars, espouses small town family values. Not only does Mr. Zeifman’s account go to character, it goes to a lifelong pattern of lying and obfuscation. It took Zeifman twelve years to get his story aired. After Watergate, Zeifman could not recommend Hillary for any subsequent position of public or private trust, nor furnish her with a letter of recommendation. After that, Hillary's employment record is one of strict nepotism, cronyism, and amnesia.

Although few suspected the lengths to which Hillary would go, a leopard never changes her spots. According to Mr. Zeifman, it’s not just Hillary’s dishonesty; that’s not in dispute. More to the point, Hillary’s history of lies and unethical behavior goes back farther, and goes much deeper than anyone realizes. "The Clintons corrupted the soul of the Democratic Party." -Henry Ruth, lead Watergate courtroom prosecutor. Hillary Clinton is a bold-faced liar, who will stop at nothing. Should anyone doubt either Mr. Zeifman, or Mr. Ruth’s veracity regarding the Clintons, dispute this: http://theseedsof9-11.com
