At last night's debate, after Obama responded to a question about U of Chicago ex-radical William Ayers by saying it was unfair to make him responsible for the 40-year-old actions of an acquaintance, Hillary responded by noting that the two men had served together on a non-profit board, the Woods Fund.
In a useful fact check today, the AP notes that Obama served on the board from 1993 till 2002. Ayers served from 1999 till the present. Total overlap: Three years.
For comparison: Hillary Clinton served on the Wal-Mart board for 6 years, 1986-92. Did that association make her responsible for the company's anti-labor practices?
Then again, maybe she figures she's been attacked for precisely that, so why not do the same?
In another Ayers development today, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley (left) takes his side:
"He worked with me in shaping our now nationally-renowned school reform program....I don’t condone what he did 40 years ago but I remember that period well. It was a difficult time, but those days are long over. I believe we have too many challenges in Chicago and our country to keep re-fighting 40 year old battles."

So Hillary Clinton wants to question and weaken Obama’s perceived better judgment and character by using his association with William Ayers as a weapon of attack.
She better be careful, or some smart blogger out there will remember when Hillary Clinton exchanged kisses with Suha Arafat, wife of terrorist Yasir Arafat, after Mrs. Arafat made scathing remarks about Israel during a joint appearance in November, 1999 on the West Bank.
If you don’t believe me, you can believe your lying eyes:
