Hillary on Bosnia: "Blip" dominates networks (Updated)

Sen. Clinton may think her untrue statements about her trip to Bosnia were just a "minor blip."

But this morning, it dominates all the morning talk shows. Suddenly, reporters who were on the trip with her are coming out of the woodwork to contradict her -- like Andrea Mitchell. Why did it take eight days?

Worth watching today: Will Hillary's acknowledgement of a "misstatement" stifle the story? Or will credibility pieces and skeptical looks at her actual foreign policy experience bloom like spring flowers, stepping on her message for another day?

Update: Here's one of the network reports -- CBS, with some film and personal recollections from a correspondent we hadn't seen before:

The problem is that her 'misstatement' is one of a series of exaggerations made with the intent to mislead the public regarding her experience and qualifications. ..i.e. to get elected to the most important job in the world under false pretenses. And after being asked about it for weeks, she only changed her story when film turned up in the media. There is a significant character issue here that goes beyond mere hyperbole.

One favorite exaggeration of mine is when she said "I stood up to China on human rights." I love it because it is a cartoonists dream scene. What in fact happened is that she gave a speech at a United Nations Conference on human rights held in China. She did not even mention China.

She said that she was part of the Northern Ireland Peace Process. She talked to a womans group that held regular monthly meetings and urged them to get involved. She had no diplomatic, policy. or negotiation role or involvment, as those involved have stated after being questioned in the media.

There are other exaggerations but why take the time.
