Apparently, affidavits are beginning to circulate about Client 9 -- Spitzer, the Times has reported -- setting up a liaison with a prostitute at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington. If the prostitute was crossing state lines, Spitzer could be under investigation for a violation of the Mann Act, which prohibits interstate transportation for the purposes of prostitution.
According to CNN, which has a copy of the affidavit, Client 9 spoke to an agent for Emperors Club representative. He asked about arrangements and was told a woman named Kristin would meet him. "Great. OK. Wonderful," Client 9 said.
They negotiated over price. Client 9 agreed to pay $3600, but said he would consider an additional $1500. Client 9 gave a room number -- 871 -- and asked for a description. The agent said she was American, petite, pretty, brunette, 5'5", 105 pounds. Client 9 said she should come straight to the room.
