Long Islanders' role in the 48th S.D. a subject of spin

aubertine

On Sunday, Newsday published a comprehensive piece by Albany bureau chief James T. Madore about the widely-watched race in the 48th Senate District. It led with this description:

"Republican activist Rose Marie Walker is spending the second weekend in a row handing out campaign brochures - more than 300 miles from her Hicksville home - in a special election for State Senate that could determine whether her party holds on to its last power base in state government.

"Walker is among a group of volunteers who traveled six hours by bus from Long Island to canvass for votes in the state's northwest corner...."

Today we have a news release from Democrat Darrel Aubertine, full text here, that begins this way:

"Scores of Long Island political operatives have headed to the 48th Senate District in an effort to help Will Barclay's campaign and ensure that millions in additional state education funds will once again be taken from our Upstate schools and given to wealthy Long Island districts.

"According to a report in the Long Island-based Newsday, the Barclay campaign has bused in scores of volunteers from Nassau and Suffolk Counties to try and shore up Barclay's fading campaign in Jefferson, Oswego and St. Lawrence Counties."

But nowhere in his story did Madore actually quantify the number of Long Islanders -- on either candidate's side -- who have been part of the outside-the-district campaign help.

Now I wonder if the former Albany Newsday bureau Chief who is now Spitzer pr person worked on this story with the current Albany Bureau Chief. I guess James Madore is looking to move on up. He is the same person who along with Melissa Mansfield sponsered the LCA DON'T SUPEON US RESOLUTION. I guess Newsday must not pay their Albany Bureau Chiefs a living wage. They seem to be looking to make more money working for the people they cover. Newsday needs to hire some independent person to look into the reporting of their Albany Staff.

RE: Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno vowed to stay in power in todays NY papers……………..

I remind this Lost NY GOP……

General George Armstrong Custer last words to his Troops were………

“There are NO Indians over them their hills, Trust me on this one gang!”

RE: Bruno says the state will have billions more to spend than Gov. Eliot Spitzer predicted in his budget proposal…………..

This is EXACTLY why the NY GOP is in the shape that it is in today!

SPENDING is the problem Senator Bruno and NY GOP!
These clowns (Albany Hacks) just don’t get it!

Thus this is why the NY GOP is “Listing as the Titanic” or looked upon as a “Ship with three Torpedoes in the engine room”…….
This NY GOP Ship is now sunk and left with “Floating Deck Chairs” …Nothing left as a Party.

With a Special Election today for a Senate seat in upstate NY, Joe Bruno comes out with another spending comment. How smart is this Joe?
The GOP deserves everything that has happened to them thus far.

More NY State Senate & Assembly Seats lost,
US Senate & Congressional Seats lost,
Statewide tickets lost,
GOP Counties lost across the State.

More importantly, What the Party use to stand for has been lost with the GOP leading the charge on more taxes and more spending!

RE: Bruno says the state will have billions more to spend than Gov. Eliot Spitzer predicted in his budget proposal…………

I must sincerely ask all of the NY GOP Political Hacks a question….
(That means you Senators, Assemblymen & The GOP Party Leadership)

Does “ANYONE” of you Liberal, NY GOPers think anything is wrong with the State GOP right now?

Is ‘ANYONE’ in the Liberal NY GOP happy in the direction that this Party is going right now?

Is “ANYONE” in the Liberal NY GOP acting as a Fiscal or Social Conservative right now?

Is ‘”ANYONE” in the Liberal NY GOP scared, worried or nervous about losing your jobs?

Here is the answer Liberal NY GOP ……Are you listening?

Take your heads out of your A@@ and start acting as Conservatives again.

Shut Joe Bruno up about MORE SPENDING and act as Republicans again. Come back home to lower taxes and spending. Come back home to family values, 2A and other social issues. Do this now before it is to late.
