McCain: The Lobby Talk Express

The New York Times got criticized by its public editor today for reporting that McCain aides in 2000 suspected he might be having an affair with lobbyist Vicki Iseman, but McCain's version of the help he provided to the lobbyist's client is coming apart a little bit, too -- here and here.
The best blogging on McCain, however, focuses on a little nugget in the Washington Post about Charle Black, the mega lobbyist who also serves as a top campaign adviser to McCain and is defending him against the claim that he might have been unduly influenced:
From the Post: "Black said he does a lot of his work by telephone from McCain's Straight Talk Express bus."
Unreal.

Newsday and the rest of the Fourth Estate should look into the mirror and say Why do we allow our reporters, editors, etc who cover elected officials to go wok for the very same people they cover.
The former Newsday Albany Bureau Chief went to work for the Spitizer Administration right after the election. He is now the Press Spokesman. This is only one of many, many reporters who have their own "REVOLING DOOR" after working in government many become high paid lobbyist etc, etc.
How can the public have any faith Newsday or any of the "Fourth Estate". There is an old saying "It is like the Pot call the Kittle Black"
It is time the Fourth Estate comes clean with the public.
