Leslie Kennedy, the wife of Suffolk County Legis. John M. Kennedy, Jr. (R-Nesconset), will earn $30,934 a year working part-time as an aide in his district office, according to Presiding Officer William Lindsay's office.
Kennedy, who had said his wife is "more than qualified," said he plans to send her as his representative to functions he is unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
Leslie Kennedy is among a number of relatives who have gone to work for county lawmakers.
Former Legis. Joseph Caracappa’s wife worked in his office, although she was in the job before they were married. Brookhaven Supervisor Brian Foley worked as an aide for his father, former Legis. John Foley. George Nolan, now legislative counsel, worked as an aide to his brother Phil Nolan, now the Islip Supervisor.

I think that the citizens of Suffolk County would be better off without the Suffolk County Legislature. It's nothing but a money pit for the politicians and their families. How many other relatives are given these sweetheart deals? Do away with the Legislature and bring back the Board of Supervisors.

Just a FEW questions? How many of you "voicing" your opinions have actually personally interacted with Mr. &/or Mrs. Kennedy? How many of you have extended a suggestion, ...eh 'hem....clear thought.... or possible solution regarding ANY of the current issues pending in this district that the KENNEDY(S).......(yes....that's....'S...plural) are working on for us? In case you didn't know this simple fact.....while you are so busy banging your own drums......the political position a Legislator takes on is to REPRESENT the voices of his constituents (DISTRICT RESIDENTS.......YOU!). It's just as amazing as it is a shame that you don't NOTICE the people that WORK HARD for YOU! Do yourselves a HUGE favor..... (& everyone else who gets nauseated at the sight of your baseless nonsensical claims).... before you Kick County Legislators like John Kennedy to YOUR CURB.......pull up a chair next to his desk......(((((trust me.... HE WILL.... WELCOME ...YOU))))) and shoot him YOUR concerns about YOUR DISTRICT! I have only known Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy and staff PERSONALLY a short while and I can tell you they do not JUST go the extra mile for their constituents - THEY MUDDLE THE FORTNIGHT for Y-O-U!! They are people who leave NO stone unturned and who will advocate for WHAT IS OPTIMUM BEST in every situation! (To BE CONTINUED .....below)
I recently saw a previous post that read, "John can't make any decisions without consulting his wife first".....W@WWWWWW......HOW VERY WRONG you have it & the sad FACT is that you only have to spend 5 minutes with John and his wife to KNOW how WRONNNG this statement is. They are a TEAM from EVERYTHING I CAN SEE....and an AWESOME one at that. Here's the WAY it seems to work:...... If John finds a closed door, Mrs. Kennedy will find an open window & John will go to that window and find someone who... WILL... OPEN THE DOOR.....GET IT!!!????? TOGETHER they get the ...OPTIMUM ...RESULTS not just PLAIN 'ole results!!!! Being together ....what is it......30+ years.....married life.....MIGHT suggest that they MAKE A GREAT TEAM?????!!! Yes folks there ARE politicians who GIVE jobs to their FAMILY and FRIENDS.....we all KNOW this.... but...... in THIS case....Mrs. Kennedy is giving ....herself to.... "The JOB" and believe me her whole heart and soul is in it 24/7 365!!! So folks......it's NOT a disgrace.......it is .....a GRACE..... and a blessing.... that WE ALL reap the benefits of TEAMKENNEDY!! Funny.....I just realized....while I sit here so heated for them....... that in all the baseless posts I have read NOT ONE has an actual complaint about the ISSUES John has personally worked on......AMAZING......just a bunch of YIP-YAP & ...yada -yada......but then.....THIS IS........"SPIN-CYCLE"....YEP....MAKES SENSE NOW! Note to Mr. Lam: In my opinion, your wording of this particular statement is INCORRECT because it is LEADING the reader to believe something entirely FALSE & I feel the need to clear it up for the readers:....... YES she has a P/T position that pays (X) but, It is a travesty to lead the reader to believe that Leslie Kennedy...... is "working... PART time" for the (X) salary.......PLAIN ENGLISH FOLKS: Leslie Kennedy accepts a P/T salary.... of (BLAH BLAH BLAH = peanuts).... and works F/T x 2 for it!!!! It is figuratively a "STIPEND" in contrast to the hours of hard earned LABOR she TRULY puts in. (((P.S...Gotta LOVE & respect a MAN who so HIGHLY VALUES his wife's skills and work ethic that he KNOWS she should be compensated in the foreground rather than volunteering dog hours in the background and could care less the verbal whipping he has to endure for it.)))))
