The Times endorses Hillary and John McCain.
How do you endorse one person who wants to get out of Iraq right away, and one who wants to stay the course? If you believe one approach is right, then don't you have to believe the person with the other approach is totally misguided, and damaging to the country?
Or, is it belief-neutral editorializing, based on education and income-level -- what smart Democrats with an upscale demographic should think, and what smart Republicans with an upscale demographic who believe all the opposite things should think?
And: When the Times endorses a Republican, do they understand it's a black mark? Does that mean they really support Giuliani, despite saying he's awful? He certainly got mileage at the debate out of the Times' trashing him.

I bet the NY Times endorsement of McCain helps Rudy on his spin in Florida. Bump of 2% or more for that matter (If Rudy plays this right!)
Meaning, Rudy can wear that as a medal on his chest, (Rudy NOT liked by the Times)....
