When the loquacious juices start flowing, Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi can go anywhere.
Such was the case Thursday when Suozzi gave an impassioned, off-the-cuff speech about economic development at a brownfields conference at the Nassau County Bar Association.
As he spoke, his aides glided over to tables by the door and stacked copies of a new county initiative for selling off contaminated properties to environmentally sensitive developers. But Suozzi left the podium without announcing the new program, as his aides had expected.
Suozzi said later that he had not gotten far before he remembered, and returned to announce his program.
