Nassau legislators Fran Becker (R-Lynbrook), at left, and John Ciotti (R-North Valley Stream), at right, weren’t the only ones angry that Democratic Legis. Diane Yatauro of Glen Cove shut off their microphones during her first outing as Nassau’s newest presiding officer.
Yatauro’s high-handed flip of the audio switch also infuriated their constituents.
“It would appear to me that silencing my elected official’s voice in the legislative process is not only un-American but illegal,” Janna Rossetti of Malverne, a Becker constitutent, e-mailed Newsday columnist Joye Brown after the legislative dust-up. “I have therefore filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s office. I elected an official to have a voice for me — and I expect that to happen,” Rossetti said.

Somebody call the WAAAAHHHBULANCE!!
Let's not forget that the last time Becker spoke in the Legislative chamber was to ask for more money so he could send his kids to college. This guy isn't representing his district, he's only representing his family's pocketbook
Didn't it ever occur to any of you that Diane Yatauro might have muted those mikes in a patriotic attempt to conserve electricity and help forestall Global Warming ?
