Dateline: Peterborough

Yesterday we were in Manchester, which was crazy enough with its Ron Paul army and legion of Dennis Kuchinich supporters. But that had nothing on Peterborough, a town of about 6,100 in the southwestern corner of the state that was so packed with political people today that the police department closed the town's main square to traffic.

John McCain held a town-hall-style meeting, the Kuchinich and C-Span buses were here and backers of Hillary Clinton, Mike Huckabee, Paul (of course), Obama and Mike Gravel milled about in the streets. There were also anti-war, anti-abortion and anti-illegal immigration activists, who mostly shouted back and forth at each other and with the Gravel people (all three of them).

Some pictures of the scene are after the jump.
