Once again, members of the Nassau County Legislature will be asked to vote on a major issue after getting key details at the last minute.
Two weeks ago, the 10 Democrats in the legislative majority voted for a sewer consolidation plan pushed by Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi, although Suozzi aides did not provide key information until the weekend before the Monday vote.
Today, the Suozzi administration will ask committees of the legislature to approve a revamped structure for management of Nassau University Medical Center (left) and its affiliated corporate entities.
By late Friday, county officials involved in the NUMC proposal were still talking about “language” and “technical details” that needed to be worked out.
The Nassau County Interim Finance Authority, which reviews the county budget, has complained in the past about delays in getting financial data on both the sewer project and NUMC.
