Now where's Waldo? On Levy's list of choices

Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy is ready to back newly-minted Democrat Waldo Cabrera (at left, with wife Sandy) in a primary against Democratic Assemb. Philip Ramos (at right) whom Levy blames for having stalled a sales tax renewal, top administration sources say.

Cabrera, 40, who tried to run as a Republican and later an independent candidate last year, enrolled as a Democrat Oct. 9. Assemb. Ginny Fields also supports him, citing complaints from Ramos’ constituents that “he doesn’t follow through, return phone calls, or show up for events.” She added, “When we have a meeting of the Long Island delegation, he usually doesn’t show up.”

Noting his efforts on downtown revitalization and other issues, Ramos said he’s “confident the work I’ve done in the community will make the difference. I just hope that we have a viable campaign on the issues rather than a hired gun...doing someone else’s dirty work.”

Richard Schaffer, Suffolk Democratic leader, said he “strongly supports” Ramos and will meet with Levy, Fields and Ramos to try to avert a primary. “From Steve’s perspective, he’s got bigger fish to fry as he begins his second term. We’ll get this resolved.”

Waldo has no values and dignity... He just wants attention... His attitude is despicable... He should be ashamed of himself... Waldo, why don't you go back to DR?

Ramos must go and if Schaffer backs him then lets get rid of Schaffer also. Remember the Babylon 5 and the most recent Babylon IDA scandal about to be prosecuted by the DA.

Thumbs up to Levy, Schaffer AND Ramos. Steve should back off on this one, though. Ramos wasn't the real problem. He was caught in the crossfire of that bigot Espaillat.

Thumbs down to the phony Waldo and the village idi0t Fields.

Let's do Long Island a real service and primary Ginny "The Ninny" Fields and get her out of here.

Put Ramos out of his misery... vote him out. We all know that he has a retirement condo in Arizona. Even when he's working he acts like he's on vacation. It's time to get someone who wants the job.

Ramos is never in the office and never returns calls because he is always away from here. I heard on the radio that he sends more money out of Long Island than he brings to us here. Not surprising. He doesn't care about local people just his people.

"Concerned Citizens Watch Dog Group" has been keeping a eye on Phil Ramos, the Incumbent running for New York State Assembly.

Mr. Ramos seems more concerned with business in Central America, then business here in America.... Let alone business in his district. Mr. Ramos has spent much of his time in so called business dealings instead of helping business grow in towns like Central Islip, who has seen more then its share of empty retail locations. Today some 35% of local business spaces are empty causing huge tax base revenue to fall sharply and you know who makes up the difference...Us..

How much of our Tax dollars have gone to these trips...?

Mr. Ramos Good Luck in your new Job...in what ever Country it's in....

Mr. Ramos maybe you should consider running for office in the Dominican Republic....???
