Nassau exec Tom Suozzi appeared today at the Citizens Budget Commission in Albany, the same forum where he gave his much-noted Fix Albany speech a few years ago, threatened to campaign against even Democrats who didn't work to relieve the local property tax burden and began his ill-fated quest to wrest the gubernatorial nomination from Eliot Spitzer..
Today, the pitch was again for property tax relief -- urging Gov. Spitzer to make property tax reductions a centerpiece this year, and arguing that the issue is the Democrats' best hope in the key LI/Westchester/ Rockland districts they need to take the state Senate next year.
But Suozzi was hardly the flamethrower of a few years ago. He said -- more than once -- that he's in Spitzer's corner, and he's not planning to campaign against fellow Dems.
