Hillary's Wolfson admits a mistake, and complains

In a rare public admission of imperfection, the Clinton campaign has acknowledged that its universally panned decision to prove Barack Obama's presidential ambitions by citing a Kindergarten essay -- which it then claimed was a joke -- was in fact a mistake. Spokesman Howard Wolfson calls it "clearly an unwise thing to do."

Elsewhere, Wolfson unloads some frustration to Washington Post media reporter Howard Kurtz, complaining that it's unfair that the press has been critical of Clinton for unloading about seven different attacks on Obama this week:

"For months some of your colleagues were explicitly urging Senator Obama to attack Senator Clinton more directly. When he attacked her character, this was seen as a good thing. For some time, we did not respond in kind. But at some point, you need to set the record straight."

The view here: The press is always harder on frontrunners, but Clinton's problem has also been tactical. Basically, all attacks are not equal -- some work, some don't. By attacking all at once on six or seven issues, indiscriminately, amid news of tightening polls, Clinton kind of signalled that it was all about attacking -- and not about any particular belief in the merits of any particular attack.

Also, in the interest of balance: Clinton advisor Gene Sperling today responded to some pretty rough criticism of Hillary by former Clinton labor secretary Robert Reich, which we cited here.

I will say it again and again and again

THE VERY LAST PERSON BILL WANTS TO SEE AS PRESIDENT IS HILLARY SOPRANO. He and his FOBS will do what ever it takes.

IN THE END THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE WHO WAS PRESIDENT NOT TWO.

BILL IS THE ROCK STAR AND HE PLANS TO KEEP IT THAT WAY.

Very, very amateur mistake by Wolfson for that ad. Although Wolfson has had a free ride for the last eight years as Hillary has been in a liberal NY State anyway. Wolfson has never had any heat on problems.

That being said, instead of going back to kidengarden classroom work on Obama, all he had to do is run commercials such as:

"Obama, two years ago was only a State Senator from Illionois,....His job was doing Baby seat laws, Street namings, Play ground park dedications, etc....Obama, has no experience"

Instead Woflson shows signs of desperation, perhaps he is not cut out for this job...big mistake made.

Another mistake the Hillary people made is lying to the people of Western NY....

Hillary promised to bringing 200,000 jobs to Western New York during the course of the last eight years...(She did not)

Hillary was to bring "Corporate America" to Western New York to promote the region and bring jobs...(She did not)

Erie County & City of Buffalo still have a "Financial Control Board," ....35,000 homes that sit vacant because they cannot be sold....and Western New York lost another 25,000 jobs...

Hillary Comes Through, Yeah Right!
