Vegas: One day after flipping, she'll be 'forthright'

This is rich.
One day after our Sen. Clinton reversed herself and decided she was against illegal immigrants getting drivers licenses because the polls say she needs to be, "advisers" tell the Times' Healy about her debate strategy tonight -- "to give yes-or-no answers to convey forthrightness."
"Conveying" forthrightness, of course, is not necessarily the same thing as being forthright.
And, Ben Smith has a smart post at the Politico, where he says Clinton's repositioning reflects her pollster's belief that "voters care about substance over process, substance over character." This means: Voters want you to be where they are, even if it's insincere, and even if it shows you'll say anything to get elected.
But again, the language is interesting: Is this substance, or the appearance of substance? Wouldn't "positioning" be a better word?
