At least one reader clearly feels the probe by D.A. Kathleen Rice of the building officials in North Hempstead has gotten short shrift around here. So let's pose the same discussion question for that town that yes, we did toss out there previously in the context of Hempstead's troubles. That is, will voters at the polls consider the connection between top elected executives and the fiascoes in the agencies they administer?
For a bit of factual background, here is a straight news story printed last week on the supervisor races, featuring North Hempstead Democratic Supervisor Jon Kaiman's challenge from Republican John Carway, followed by short profiles of the supervisor contests in Hempstead and Oyster Bay.
