ABC: Kerik indicted, compared to Nixon

Bernard Kerik was indicted by a federal grand jury on tax, corruption and other charges, according to a report by ABC News.

GOP presidential contender Rudy Giuliani, who transformed Kerik from an undercover narcotics detective to New York City's police commissioner, sought to rehabilitate his protege and potential political liability by comparing him to ... Richard Nixon.

"But, you know, people are complex," Giuliani said in an ABC interview amid reports yesterday of an impending Kerik indictment. "Richard Nixon had this very serious problem, but his breakthrough with China was one of the historical things that happened in the 20th century. You can't take that away from him."

The point of the comparison is that both are complex, flawed characters who did both bad and good things, but that history will reward them for the good things they did. The scale of the bad and good is out of kilter - Kerik, reportedly indicted on corruption charges, is a small fish compared with Nixon, forced from the presidency amid impeachment charges of abuse of power.

But maybe Giuliani is on to something here - perhaps he figures there are a lot of Republicans who feel that Nixon was unfairly tarred and feathered by spiteful Democrats, and that their sentiment for Nixon will spill over to Kerik, and by extension, to Giuliani.

Bernard Milhous Nixon? I think not. Just a thug who didn't realize his own limitations. Let the games Begin. Bernie the day of reckoning is rolling down the tracks. We will be on you like white on rice.

RE: Rudy & Kerik

Kerik will Hurt Rudy....

And as you all are getting to see as everyday goes by...

Rudy will Hurt Rudy....

I know that the New York Liberal Press has a hard time absorbing this but....Rudy will not be the Candidate for President (As I have been saying for many of months now on this blog)

Kelly you are correct. Phony Giuliani will be found out before the voting starts. It's either Romney or Thompson vs. Hillary. Hillary beats Romney. Thompson beats Hillary.

RE: Rudy & Molinari (Guy is wasting his time)

Wait till they start looking at the Hardings, Reginald Patrick from DOCS, the list goes on and on.

So either Rudy was a poor judge of character and couldn’t recognize criminality in his staff or he was aware and turned a blind eye.

Either way he is not ready to run this country. Further these media events are all coordinated purposely (As I have been saying since summer)...They are not going to end.

Still to come (Possible) photo's to hit later of Rudy marching in the Gay Parade (Not knowing NAMBLA signs were behind him),

Photo's of Rudy on Dais of Planned Parenthood and NARAL…All which will play well in the early States.

This "Bankrupt" GOP Party still does not get it.

They think Rudy can draw votes to candidates in the elections for the rest of their Statewide slate with Rudy on top of the ticket..Perhaps they can....

But the "Heart & Soul" voters will (Again) look at this Party as loosing themselves by putting up Rudy who is a Liberal on the ticket while True Conservative Candidates are running for President...

This is all going to back fire on this Lost GOP again...They lose direction,
