Giuliani: I’m not perfect

Last week, he was quoting Bible verses about how his political rivals shouldn’t judge others too harshly. This week, Rudy Giuliani is trying a little humility – admitting he’s far from perfect but still the one guy who....can beat the Democrats."

"I’ve been tested in a way in which the American people can look to me. They’re not going to find perfection, but they’re gonna find somebody who’s dealt with crisis almost on a regular basis and has had results, results people thought were impossible," Giuliani says in a new radio ad called "Tested" airing in New Hampshire, where Giuliani is spending the day.

The ad doesn’t come right out and say it, but Spin Cycle is pretty sure he’s referring here to his rather complicated family life – something that is causing heartburn among religious-right leaders thinking about bolting the Republican party if it picks Giuliani as its standard-bearer.

It’s a variation on a theme that Giuliani has used all year...

... when people ask about his messy divorce from Donna Hanover and his strained relations with his children – yes, I might have had some drama in my personal life, but nobody’s perfect and it didn’t spill over and hurt my job performance as mayor.

In the radio ad, Giuliani repeats another theme he’s been testing on the campaign trail – if you don’t like what I’m saying, don’t vote for me. "We laid out a very, very specific set of goals that we want to achieve because I want people to look at those and say if I agree with most of them, then this is a person who can bring them about. And if they disagree with it, they should vote against me, because I am going to bring it about."

But the kicker really is what Giuliani's campaign is all about these days, taking on Hillary and Co.: "Rudy Giuliani. The Republican that Democrats just don’t want to run against."

Giuliani released the ad as he starts a week-long "Rudy Makes ¢ents" campaign swing to stake his claim to being a tax-cutting fiscal conservative heading into Tuesday’s debate in Michigan on financial issues, which also will be Fred Thompson's GOP debate debut. You can sample the spot here.

In short, Panic setting in on Rudy team as they released that bogus press release two days ago about their future game plans....(What BS)

RE: This week alone it was the NRA and then the Social Conservatives tossing Rudy over board....Again as in my prior post, the GOP is feeling the heat from the Conservative wing.

Below is today's numbers, Rudy is down.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows little change in the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination. It’s Fred Thompson with 24% and Rudy Giuliani at 22%. The next level features Mitt Romney at 14% and John McCain at 12% while Mike Huckabee earns support from 5% of Likely Republican Primary Voters.

An analysis by Douglas Schoen suggests Fred Thompson is in a much stronger position than most observers understand. A Rasmussen Reports analysis says the race for the GOP nomination is getting murkier and has no clear frontrunner.

In short, More behind the picture then everyone thinks. NRA counts for 6-7 States, Pro-life States for 3-4 and Traditonal Marriage (Gay Rights) for 2 States....Bush, Gore and Kerry all agree on these numbers...

Who were the brains to think Rudy was going to make it past the primaries? The Rockefeller wing never gets past second base...
