RUDY REMARKS UPDATED:
Upon review, here is what Giuliani said about Iran, according to a transcription of my recording of his remarks:
"I believe the United States and our allies should deliver a very clear message to Iran, very clear, very sober, very serious: They will not be allowed to become a nuclear power. It's just not going to happen."
"It is my view that we should cut off that possiblity, that it's too risky, that Iran has displayed too often an irresponsible behavior, and even has displayed a kind of fantasy about their role in the world, their abilty to maybe dominate with an Islamic revolution...
"So I would say the policy of the United States of America should be very very clear, that we will use any option we believe is in our best interest to stop them from becoming a nuclear power, and that we’re not goinig to allow that to happen.
And then we should back up our words and get the support of our allies and our sometmies allies in putting maximum pressure on Iran not to go in that direction with the absolute assurance that we will, if they get to the point that they going to become a nuclear power, we will prevent it, or we will set them back five or 10 years. And that is not said as a threat, That should be said as a promise. It isn't a threat, it's just a reality. And I think if that reality sinks in there is a better chance that we will never have to use a military option in dealing with Iran."
