Late payments are a fact of life whenever you subcontract with a government agency. Whether it is the Feds, State, County or Town they are always late and all business owners know this and accept the problem or they don't take government work. I can feel for the workers but they are learning the hard truth about working with government. Smart businesses add cost to all services knowing they will not be paid on time.

for over twenty years child care providers were paid within 30 days of billing. As a matter of fact every one who contracted with the county should have been paid in 30 days this was a mandate from 1990 untill Mr. Levy took office. This is pass through monies from the Federal and State, not the counties monies. Unlike other small or large business child care providers can not add extra charges, as this is what the state and federal goverment pays for subsized day care.
