The lawyer Joseph diGenova was on the forefront of seeking a pardon for VP assistant Scooter Libby. This is one fact cited in the Democrats' attack on his hiring by the Senate Republicans to dig up more on Choppergate. Said state Democratic chair June O'Neill:

Whether it was his relentless pursuit of President Clinton, his attacks on Valerie Plame and Patrick Fitzgerald or his outspoken defense of Scooter Libby, DiGenova’s record raises serious ethical questions that should disqualify him from what is already a highly compromised partisan investigation.”
