Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno came under attack by Senate Minority Leader Malcolm Smith earlier today, when Smith asked Bruno to let go of the “choppergate” investigations, especially after Friday’s report by the Albany County district attorney that cleared the governor of any illegal activities.
Later this afternoon, Bruno spoke with reporters about recent developments. When asked about Smith’s plea to drop the investigations, Bruno responded, "Malcolm Smith is a big dreamer. He keeps dreaming."
Bruno continued: "He is welcome to his dreams, but his dreams next November will turn into nightmares, when this majority of Republicans is going to increase in membership. As nice a guy as Malcolm is, he’s going to stay the minority leader."
After describing his hopes for next year’s election, he added that the statement was "very objective and very pragmatic." Bruno holds control of the Senate, with 33 Republicans to 29 Democrats.

I hope that Bruno doesn't hang about any street corners near schools. He might be accused of trying to sell whatever it is he's smoking.
Bruno has predicted GOP gains in State Senate elections for 5 years now. He has been wrong for 5 years.
