Hillary and the VP's Vitriol

You could almost hear the sigh of relief from Hillaryland when Ol' Reliable Dick Cheney decided to take his whacks at her on CNN last night -- after a week of bruising and increasingly unseemly internecine battle with Barack Obama.

Today, Clinton sent the veep a letter in which she throws down yet another gauntlet (she buys the Cheney ones by the case) to the White House on Iraq. Then she dispatched an update to supporters, urging them to add their names to an E-postcard. "I couldn't care less what Dick Cheney says about me," she said. "But when he plays politics with the lives of our troops, you had better be sure I'm going to respond. And I know that you want to respond too."

Clinton's campaign spokespeople have yet to respond to Obama's anti-terror speech today calling for a tougher stance on Pakistan.
