Giuliani fundraising pitch: I’m the Hillary-stopper

Rudy Giuliani’s campaign is out today with a new fundraising appeal, and it cuts to the chase regarding why Republicans who might not like his positions on immigration or abortion should vote for him anyway.

Two words: Hillary Clinton.

"There is only one Republican candidate who can win the Republican nomination and beat the Democrats in 2008: Rudy Giuliani," the letter signed by campaign manager Mike DuHaime reads. Contributions to Giuliani "will go a long way in helping Rudy go the distance and beat Hillary Clinton next November."

The letter says there are a variety of national and swing-state polls that show Giuliani is the only one who can beat her, including a recent Rasmussen poll that shows Giuliani leading Clinton 47 percent to 40 percent. Not surprisingly, it fails to mention a few polls from this summer where Clinton is beating Giuliani, or any of the handful of polls that show Barack Obama besting the ex-mayor.

But we nitpick. In a week when both Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson tried to rough up Giuliani by not-so-delicately hinting that he’s a gun-hating, immigration-loving New York City liberal, Giuliani’s campaign is putting what it considers its trump card on the table for all to see. Giuliani doesn’t mention either man by name but it’s a pitch we’re going to hear a lot in coming months – I’m the one, not them, who can keep Clinton out of the White House.

Once again I say....

A fight for the "Heart & Soul" of the GOP could begin.

If Rudy wins, the base sits home on election day and penalizes the GOP again! They always do. Time after time. Don't you get it. Social Conservatives sit home.

Below taken from CBS site:

Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention told CBS, "While evangelicals are much more tolerant of divorce than they used to be, three wives is one too many for most evangelical voters."

"In this post-9/11 world, the Giuliani campaign and his supporters argue, leadership trumps character," continued CBS, pointing out that polls show only a small minority of Republican primary voters saying that Giuliani's personal life might affect their vote.

However, Richard Land emphasized that "when a social conservative, if one arises that demonstrates electoral viability against Hillary Clinton, you're going to see social conservatives and other Republican primary voters dropping off Giuliani like fleas off a dead dog."

Jim Kelly - Conservative Campaigns

"Never give up Your Unparalleled Moral, Religious or Political Convictions!"

Ah Jim Kelly Need you be reminded that Giuliani is a Liberal who feels he owes a debt to his fellow man. He plans to repay this debt however, with our money.

Rudy is the poster boy for Bush's war,for having multiple marriages including one to his cousin, moking his wife and mother of his two YOUNG children on public t.v. informing her he had a another woman to replace her, Rudy and Judy! perfect pair of matching bookends indeed ,six marriages between them .Let's not forget Rudy is NOT pro life, but is for gay rights is a known cross dresser and also has had shady business dealings.I almost forgot ,who wants a President who tried to evict his wife and children out of the mansion so he could bring in his latest lover? Not I!This guy has the morals of an alley cat!How could we trust him to serve our country when he has shown no respect or loyalty to his own family?
I will enjoy his campaign as much as I do a sitcom! One's reputation precedes you and Rudy is the poster boy for a low life scoundrel! He is not a poster boy for the President of the United States!
