Darren Dopp's return to state service in a still-unnamed capacity comes on the heels of the Republicans' loss of moral capital from the Roger Stone antics, turned up by the Spitzers. But the GOP is slamming away again, with condemnations here and here. Spitzer, meanwhile, refused to comment on the matter during a press conference earlier today in midtown Manhattan.
UPDATE: The Albany County GOP released a statement of its own, from chairman Peter Kermani, which stated in part: "Today’s rumor that Darren Dopp will be returning to the public payroll before any investigation is completed is a shocking disappointment to the people of the Capital Region and the entire state. The public should also be greatly concerned about recent leaked reports that District Attorney David Soares is quickly wrapping up the investigation into the 'Spitzergate' scandal without a thorough investigation."

We can run Alberto Gonzales out of office for possibly evading questions about non-criminal activity, but the same party who ran him out of office has no outrage for abuse of office charges within their ranks. Whereis Chuck Schumer now??? Oh I forgot this is state politics, and the cameras were off!!!!
