Former Gov. Jim Gilmore (R-Va.) has been on an indefinite hiatus from campaigning due to a detached retina, but has not dropped out, according to a campaign spokesman. "He is very anxious to get back to campaigning, but for the moment that is not possible," spokesman Dick Leggitt said last week. Gilmore underwen surgery to repair the retina week before last.
