About a month ago, we did some blogging here and here about Hillary's shifting positions on outsourcing as she attempted to walk a line as a pro-labor Democrat who wanted to cultivate support from Indian-Americans who favor offshoring and visas for foreign high-tech workers.
The questions first came up in an Obama oppo memo, which Clinton publicized as an example of his negative campaigning. Now, they are fully explored in this nice piece in the LA Times, which seems to conclude -- as we did -- that she still hasn't decided what she thinks about outsourcing. Or maybe, to put it nicely, that her emphasis seems to change depending on her audience.
Worth a read. One quote: "It's just two-faced," said John Miano, founder of the Programmers Guild, one of several high-tech worker organizations that have sprung up as outsourcing has expanded. "We see her undermining U.S. workers and helping the offshoring business, and then she comes back to the U.S. and says, 'I'm concerned about your pain.' "

The H-1B and L1 visa programs are a boon to cheap labor lobby and a slap in the face for American engineers and programmers. This is my "Third Rail" if you don't come out against this abuse of Americans your a traitor and your opponent will get my support. The stupid issues like gay marriage and such aren't even on my radar. I could care less if you made it illegal to get married at all. It's the selling out of America to MBNA's nasty anti-consumer bankruptcy bill in 2005, the destruction of IT and engineering with H1B's, the off shoring of jobs, the importing of dangerous products made by children and slaves in a country that has weapons of mass destruction pointed at us! These are the things I care about, not the fluff. I watch the votes in the House and Senate the outright hypocrisies of our elected officials will doom us all.
