Suffolk Republicans are looking to recruit lawyer Josh Price as a last-minute entry to take on Suffolk Legis. Steve Stern (D-Dix Hills), a close ally of County Executive Steve Levy.
Price, 35, a partner in a Manhattan law firm, confirmed that the party has approached him. “I am considering it,” he said, “I am exploring what resources would be made available to me if I choose to run.”
Republicans are under a tight deadline because the party is trying to ready its nominating petitions for the first day to get signatures June 12.

In 2005, Price wanted to run for Congress against Rep. Steve Israel and, according to Federal Election Commission filings, raised $30,000 and put $50,000 of his own and put it into a campaign fund. While in college, Price helped Indiana Republican Steve Buyer win his seat in Congress and he worked for him briefly before entering law school.
Toni Tepe, Huntington GOP chairwoman, said Price had also expressed early interest in the legislative seat last January. But earlier Suffolk Republican Chairman Harry Withers was preoccupied with the potential candidacy of John Caracciolo, publisher of the Long Island Press, who later decided against running.
“Josh Price is a very articulate, promising individual and his credentials are impeccable,” Tepe said, but added “there are are lots of concerns and questions that need to be answered” about the the extent of the county party’s support for the race.
Stern said he does not know Price nor was he aware of his potential candidacy. “I look forward to running on my record as part of Steve Levy’s team,” Stern said.
Tepe also said that the GOP is trying to recruit Bill Sjem, 28, a financial consultant from Centerport, to run against Legis. Jon Cooper (D-Lloyd Harbor) and attorney Chad Rubinacci of Huntington Station to take on Legis. Lou D’Amaro (Deer Park), but both are undecided.
“It’s late, and they don’t have a level of comfort that they will be assured that they will have the resources available to them to run a credible race,” she said.

Chad is on the South Huntington School Board. He is more than an ample candidate. He's got the smarts as an attorney and the business aspects of running a school district.
He also lives in Huntington Station why is opponent lives in a gated comunity on the south shore.
Chad cares about Huntington station, Lou D'Amaro cares about making money from his political endeavors.
Look at his moves when he sat on the Babylon Zoning Board as the chairperson.
His biggest campaign supporters were businesses and individuals who got favorable decisions from sweet Lou.
