Suffolk's Democratic County Executive Steve Levy is getting reinforcement in his hiring-hall battle from the right wing -- from county Conservative chairman Edward Walsh and GOP Brookhaven Supervisor candidate Robert DiCarlo.
DiCarlo, a former Brooklyn State Senator who now lives in Stony Brook, praised Levy for standing up to a "radical wing, of mostly New York City representatives" -- whose action "borders on bribery, and is completely unacceptable."

DiCarlo is running against Demcoraitic Townh Supervisor Brian Foley.
Walsh, whose party has endorsed Levy's re-election said he's "proud of Steve's decision to stand true to his principles" and assailed efforts by the state legislature's black and Hispanic caucus to block a county sales tax extension as "nothing more than blackmail."

I want to personally thank Steve Levy for making a morally and legal stand against day laborer sites. As a resident of Huntington Station for 42 years I've never seen it so bad as these last 7 years in my area. People are afraid to go out at night and walk to their neighbors. Shootings and stabbings are becoming more and more common. Majority of these criminal acts comes from the mostly Hispanic Illegal Alien community.
The town's day laborer site was mentioned in the news as being funded by the town taxpayers at $115,000 per yr through the Huntington Station enrichment center. The center only got $10,000 a yr for helping needy town children.
Where's the New York State Attorney General on this corruption ? Where are the Feds do they condone this ?
Yet the IRS is going after the enrichment center for non-payment of payroll taxes.
So why not Town board members, Supervisor Petrone and councilman/woman Mark Cuthbertson and Susan Berland for aiding and abetting a day laborer site where non payment of payroll taxes is it's main reason for existing ?
Our County Exec has made it very clear that he will NOT allow self rightous race-baiting radical members of state government to get away with "Blackmail".
These members of the assembly by virtue of not only their threats of withholding nearly 300 million dollars from suffolk County which is vital to our economy but their actions as well by literally demanding that Steve Levy who has made it very clear that we cannot continue to reward those who violate the laws of this country by gaining illegal access, by demanding that we place "Hiring Halls" in our communities which of course will be another financial burden to bare as if we have'nt enough all ready.
This issue is NOT about race but rather the violation of law, and the undergound economy that is generated by these workers which means more taxes for Suffolk residents because they do not contribute,not a dime to anything foremost our school tax system while at the same time they receive a free education. So now Mr. Ramos is Famous for something, trying to destroy Suffolk County.
Its good to see that their are others who are willing to stand up for what is right as Steve Levy has done.

THE POLICE WERE CALLED AND WOULD HAVE LET THE ILLEGAL GO BUT MY SONS BUDDIE BEING A POLICE OFFICER DEMANDED HE BE PUT IN JAIL. THIS DRUNK DRIVER DID NOT OWN THE CAR, IT HAD NO INSURANCE AND THE PLATES DID NOT BELONG TO THE VEHICLE. HE WAS RELEASED THE NEXT DAY AND SKIPPED TOWN. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DID NOT GIVE HIM FULL MONATARY COMPENSATION. THE BIKE WAS TOTALED AND HE BECAME SHORT OF $5,000.00. AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
