The stuff that got us really jazzed about the Page Six bribes-and-bachelor-parties kerfuffle (original docs courtesy of our favorite Web site The Smoking Gun) was the deposition from a former Sixer claiming they quashed anti-Clinton items at the behest of strangest-Clinton-bedfellow-ever Rupert Murdoch.
The New York Observer has an interesting follow today that features disgraced Post-ie Jared "The Worm" Stern claiming the paper’s editors forced Page Six to quash a positive story about Ed Klein’s error-strewn, widely-ridiculed, nutto-biography of Hillary Clinton. Instead the paper ran a piece denouncing Klein’s bizarre and baseless assertion that HRC liked the girls a little too much when she was an undergraduate at Wellesley.
"So, basically, what we ended up doing is reconfiguring the story and working with Hillary Clinton’s people on this, and the story we ended up printing was that Ed Klein had done a sloppy hatchet job," said Stern -- who, allegedly, had tried to shake down Bill Clinton billionaire best friend Ron Burkle.
Say it ain’t so!
Stern’s charge, if true, is a damning one: The Post’s editors have turned into such a bunch shameless Clinton patsies they’re – gasp -- becoming fair!
