Islip: Greene Raps 'Screen'

Pamela Greene, Islip’s maverick Republican town board member, has sent a letter attacking her party’s executive committee for trying to force incumbents like her to screen for renomination.

Noting that past incumbents including Assemb. Philip Boyle (R—Islip), party chairman State Sen. Caesar Trunzo (R-Brentwood), and Sen. Owen Johnson (R-West Babylon), did not have to undergo repeated screenings, Greene said: “I find this break in recent tradition to be divisive to the party interenally and externally as it sends a bad message to those outside our party.”

Greene, in the letter, said she submitted to screening as a supervisor candidate last year only to be “treated with a complete lack of respect,” in an atmosphere of “hostile interrogation.”

She said party officials were upset that she won the Conservative Party’s endorsement and raised $100,000 on her own before going to party officials. She added that party officials decided “to sit out the process” after she won the supervisor primary which “sabotaged our victory.”

Contending her track record is well known to the executive committee, Greene said, “I would have hoped that this would have been enough to ensure my party’s support. I am disappointed that does not appear to be the case.”

Trunzo said he was unaware of Greene’s letter and said she has left the party in the dark about whether she wants to run for her town board seat or for supervisor. “We can’t get Pam to come down, she’s very secretive and doesn’t want to tell us what’s going on in her mind,” he said.

It is difficult to determine who is more childish, Greene or Trunzo. The Republican Party in Islip has been destroyed by gutless Trunzo following the bully Pete McGowan in a path of least resistance. Meanwhile Greene took McGowan's money for her coucilmatic campaigns and let him fleece the Town.

and this is why there are so many problems with the Reps in Islip. Greene, just suck it up and screen. At least it gives the appearance of good government. What a bunch of babies. Thats why you will continue to LOSE.
