Robert Cicale for Suffolk county executive?

Cicale, 38, Islip assistant town attorney, acknowledges that Suffolk GOP chairman Harry Withers has approached him about making what many consider to be a suicide run against popular Democratic County Executive Steve Levy. Withers confirmed that he has talked to Cicale, but says he is speaking to three other potential candidates as well.
Cicale, who fell short in a close county legislature race against Assemb. Ginny Fields in 2001, says he is "very interested" in interviewing with party leaders, but has not made a final decision whether he wants to run.
"If I go into this, I go in with my eyes wide open," said the Islip Terrace father of two. "We have two Democratic senators, a Democratic governor and a Democratic county executive. And in a county as large as ours, I think we need to hear a Republican voice in the county executive race. "
