A large and varied turnout of Nassau pols is expected Thursday night at Umberto’s in New Hyde Park for Nassau Independence Party Chairman Bobby Kumar’s 50th birthday party.
“Our friend, Bobby K. is turning 50!!!!!!! and he's celebrating 25 years in the USA. It's a surprise, but we think he already knows. (By invite only)” said the e-vite that went out from a group calling itself “Friends of BobbyK.”.
Political candidates covet the Independence Party ballot line, figuring voters will turn to it when they don’t want to vote Republican or Democrat.
So at least one partygoer predicts a motley crew of big names and unknown hopefuls will show up to hoist a glass to Kumar. “Remember the Star Wars bar scene?” the invitee said.
