Looks like Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weitzman made a few high-level friends in his recent effort to be appointed state comptroller, the job that ultimately went to his Great Neck neighbor, former Assemb. Thomas DiNapoli.
Weitzman just send out an invitation to a $450 a ticket “spring celebration” with “special honored guests” Gov. Eliot Spitzer, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, New York State Democratic Leader Malcom Smith and Lt. Gov. David Paterson. Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi and Nassau Democratic chairman Jay Jacobs will be there too.
The “celebration” takes place at Leonards of Great Neck on May 10.

I guess we now know why he dropped the budget bomb on Suozzi so soon!
Weitzman believes the fantasy told to him by his consultants PARKSIDE ASSOCIATES, that he is the next County Exec.
