Hillary Apologizes for "Evasive" Gay Remarks

Lots of back and forth phone calls between gay rights groups and Obama and Clinton camps over their joint refusal to shoot down Peter Pace's remark that homosexuality is "immoral."

Obama still mum; This is about to be posted on Hillary's campaign Website:

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on the Comments Made By General Peter Pace:

"I have heard from many of my friends in the gay community that my response yesterday to a question about homosexuality being immoral sounded evasive. My intention was to focus the conversation on the failed don't ask don't tell policy. I should have echoed my colleague Senator John Warner's statement forcefully stating that homosexuality is not immoral because that is what I believe."

This is silly. Pace's use of the word 'immoral' to describe homosexuality is unfortunate. Stating that homosexuality is evil is like saying refrigerators are evil. I think that Pace believes that homosexual acts are a sin and thus evil. There is a difference. To say "I don't think homosexuality is immoral" is still evasive.

What do the candidates really believe in? That's what I'd like to know!
