The war between Fran Siems and Frank MacKay, who is chairman of the Independence Party for Suffolk and the state, has turned financial.
MacKay, as you might recall, moved last year to oust Siems as Islip party chair. However, only last month, Siems filed a campaign report with the state Board of Elections indicating the town party had $1,700 in the bank.
Now party officials have communicated with the town party treasurer that he should turn over the money in town party coffers, maintaining that Siems is no longer the town party leader.

Siems maintains that MacKay has gone on the attack because she's a woman. "Women have no power in the Independence Party," she said. "Frank's a total dictator."
MacKay laughed at Siems' claims, noting that the town leaders in Brookhaven, East Hampton, Southold, and Smithtown are all women and there is no problem in their relationships.

Fran Siems was a Pete McGowan lacky and she loves to imbibe. Her total incompetence as a Town Leader and constant job searches for herself and her family so damaged the independence movement in Islip that it will never recover. Frank MacKay is a joke and should have his own books audited.
Frank MacKay and Pete McGowan were as close as close could be until Pete's fall last year.
