Let the Reforms Begin

Congratulations, Democrat Craig Johnson. You have been elected to the “dysfunctional state legislature.”
Those were your words, used in your campaign literature to criticize Republican opponent Maureen O’Connell in the race for the State Senate in the 7th District.
We are sure your new colleagues will be eager to hear how to reform themselves -- perhaps with some additional advice from your strongest campaign supporter, Gov. Eliot Spitzer.

Was there a point to this? Other than bitter snark, I mean.

No point at all it seems since O'Connell spent her entire campaign running against Skelos and the republican majority.

What's crawled up Murphy's backside? Every challenger and incumbent campaigns against albany dysfunction - if this stopped them from working collegially once elected, nothing would ever get done.

Of course, nothing does get done, but it's not for lack of collegiality...
