Blog-o-crat?

A North Massapeaqua business consultant has formed an exploratory committee to run against Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford).

Bill Corrigan, 36, has filed papers with the Federal Elections Commission. He's looking to run, not as a Republican or a Democrat, but as an independent candidate who would allow voters to decide how he should vote -- by computer referendum, on his Web site.

Corrigan describes himself as a moderate who was raised Democrat but now leans more Republican, saying, “It kind of puts me all over the map.” He said he computer program which will list pending bills to be public reaction “could be the beginning of a political renaissance.”

Well Rick Brand, has Mr. Corrigan ever heard of " wrong way Corrigan". I'll bet his opposition will have fun with that.

Great idea. Can't wait for the 10 people with no jobs and nothing better to do to be the reason this guy votes a certain way on a piece of legislation.

People want leadership, not polls.

What this fellow is saying is that he has no opinion of his own and will blow in the wind of public opinion.

Just what we DON'T need.

Haha!

Douglas "Wrong Way" Corrigan was a clever man who overcame bureaucratic BS in order to achieve something innovative and risky…and what was his reward?

A ticker tape parade.

Maybe Billy should take up the moniker and claim it as his own!

Does Corrigan "thank god every night that George Bush is in the White House?" What are his positions? How does he vote?

We need to know more.

Bill Corrigan is nothing less than innovative in every avenue he travels. I have worked with him personally on several charitable initiatives and when he says that his upbringing vs. his experiences puts him "all over the map," the sound byte doesn't do him justice. Mr. Corrigan IS all over the map - he is anywhere that the map needs fresh ideas, logical thought processes, a passion for bettering the world our children grow up in, whether that be from the left side of the room (evidenced by his passion for arts and education) to the right (supporting those who give their life for our country.)

Long Island needs someone fresh and truthful; someone who has a genuine concern for the betterment of the world AS WELL as the fundimental beliefs that our country was built on - THAT WE SHOULD ALL HAVE A VOICE. Mr. Corrigan intends to put you and me back in the driver's seat.

Kudos to him.

I like it. i want it.

SPOILER ALERT

This guy could shift much needed votes from a challenger. Anyone know if he would want to return to his Dem roots? Watch this guy.

Well, some of you may think "we" don't need something like this. But personally, "I" think I do. I am one who feels that in the large scope of things it doesn't matter what I think, and so much of what I want to say is unheard (so why bother!).

Usually, a candidate runs with his own personal agenda running in one huge popularity contest. Bill seems to be honest, and not out for the fame, but more so for the average person in his community to feel like their opinion is heard and not falling on deaf ears.

I am totally in!

Run Billy! Run!

Hey Rick,

My site King Watch posted this story a few weeks ago.

someone should remind Mr. Corrigan that God so loved the world that he didn't create a committee.

Wow!!! Newsday scooped by a blog how sad. What's even more sad is that Newsday probably got the story from the blog. Rick how about doing some of your own investigative work.

We definitely need a change of Representation. But we need to know a lot more about this man. However, if the Dems don't run someone, with money behind him or her, this guy will have to do it for us;

This guy Corrigan had a rally in Oyster Bay last weekend during the Nor'easter. There must have been 100 people there. Mostly young, 4X4 driving, white males. He's obviously got some kind of military background. He heads up some sort of 'members only' rifle club. He's a fervent speaker and obviously a professional public speaker. He had the crowd whipped into a frenzy. He gets people to spend their money to benefit him without donating it to him.
He wore a navy Brooks Brothers suit. Watch this guy, he's extraordinarily persuasive.

Anyone but King

I met Mr. Corrigan at the train station today. He was handing out flyers and lattes.

He's got my vote.
