It looks like tomorrow will definitely be a big day for all you comptroller groupies.

The Assembly has passed a resolution, 142-0, inviting the Senate over to pick a comptroller at 2 p.m. And with the Democrats dead-set on picking a legislator instead of one of the non-legislators cleared by the screening panel of former comptrollers, a fuming Gov. Spitzer has sent out a letter telling them they're making a big mistake.

individuals found most qualified for the position are being rejected for
one reason only – because they are not sitting members of the Legislature.
Stated differently, you are telling the public that only legislators are
eligible to serve as Comptroller, and that merit, independence and
qualifications do not matter."
